National Lottery Heritage Fund supports New Directions College’s 65th anniversary

The New Directions College in Reading will receive £10,000 ($12,190) in grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which will allow a local historian to compose work on learning in Reading.

As part of the festivities, the 65th Anniversary Exhibition will be held at the Reading History and Community Gallery at Reading Museum.

The project will focus on the town’s local adult learning history, culture and heritage, including resources from the 1800s and 1900s.

Andrea Wood, New Directions College Principal, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve received this support thanks to National Lottery players.

“This is set to be a marvellous celebratory exhibition of the story and impact of adult learning in Reading dating back 65 years.

“It will bring us to current day, where the college plays a pivotal role at the heart of our community, supporting thousands of adults to gain the skills they need for employment,Online Casino Games further education or personal or social development.”

The New Directions College has also partnered with Reading Museum to host a range of events, including arts and crafts, wellbeing and building social connections.

Last month, The National Lottery granted funding to 'foster social connections' in Newry, Mourne and Down.
